"That's What I Call A Photo!"
is the title of one of the exhibits in the first and largest photo
festival display named "Breda Photo 2003" (See the web
site: www.bredaphoto.nl.)
Measuring 52 x 42 inches, these are large portraits of residents
from Breda and the vicinity. They are comparable to passport photos
you take in a photo booth behind closed curtains, but much larger
in size.
A special and unique aspect of these large scale photographs is
the outside display they create on 69 illuminated information kiosks
lit day and night throughout the entire city.
These huge photo displays create city wide recognition for the
exhibit.
Commuting to and from work, or driving to the mall, local residents
may recognize a familiar face, and surprisingly remark: "Look,
a portrait of my neighbor!" or exclaim: "That lady works
in my department!"
There are no professional photo models advertising a "new fruit
yogurt product of the week," just real people.
The portraits were taken from randomly chosen people on the street
and from friends.
Here again are a few photos from the series. |
